Day 14 - 17
Sadly I’ve been pushing myself a bit too much and ended up with some elbow and wrist soreness in my drawing arm. I’m going to have to downgrade my work to just pencil sketches for the rest of the month to give myself some extra rest on that. Digital art is a bi unforgiving with the horrible ways I sit in chairs.
BUT have a huge dump of pencil. I started a Fanart Friday, but want to actually finish the colors, so that will be sometime in the future until I can heal up.-
Drew a bunch of Leerus today, kind of reevaluating him as a character and his core motives. Sure he’s super annoying, selfish and really angry, but that all really comes down to him being just a kid.
Leerus’ mom, and some kitchen doodles.
Last year I drew out and talked about living islands! This is the massive creature that makes up Tikall and his group’s island home. A big leafy dolphin like thing. She’s pink.
Day 12 - 13
I drew some fish! One of the first scenes involves an underwater fish hunt, and I figured a fun little visual montage of the strange breeds of fish would be a nice way to ease readers into this world without a ton of info dropping. Keeping a younger reader base in mind, no one wants to text walls in a comic, especially not kids.
The underwater world surrounding the island I’ve been drawing for the past week. I really loved the visual idea of giant coral ‘hands’. They stuck, and will be a fun thing to plat with during a fast paced underwater chase.
Art Slam day 8 - 11
Laka is kind of a anomaly to this island, so there’s some mixed views of him across the inhabitants. All the kids love him however.
Some quickly colored sketches to feel out the inner jungle areas of the island. And took that earlier teeny color key and made some full blown scenes.

Aahah…hit a week detour on Art Slam, and that detour is called Flight Rising. A dragon breeding game. Sinking so much of my spare time into that right now it’s not even funny. If anyone else is playing, add me under the name Skulldog okay?
Art Slam day 6 - 7
First these are some magically things I like doing for color comics, each panel is a separate setting that will be used in the first chapter. I want to get a feel for the colors I will be using as I progress each scene, mostly unified as it all takes place in a relatively small area, just over the course of an afternoon to just before sunset. On that note, I’ve fully written the first chapter of this comic. Yeah!
And rounding out my two day collection with some sketches of Laka telling stories to the islanders.
Some comic poops. Ready for a new update to start tomorrow night?
Some comic poops while I work on dinner things. Nearly done this page, only 8 more for these scene to be complete.
Some comic poops, gearing up for a massively long scene, which is gonna take me a month or more to finish. spoiler: It’s a big fight.
Little crop of some comic pages I’m working on for the night. Look who finally shows up!
Huge WIP. Someone get over here and tell me how to not overwork acrylic..
I love the panel so far, aaa..
Just flats for now, and I’ll weep when it gets all of two seconds notice being textless in the full page.
Mashup of 2d and 3d art. Just started painting it today. Apoxy on a laminated board with acrylic and marker. And will likely had some feather dangles at the end too.
Couple of sketches for digital commissions.
Comic poops, comic poops. Spent lots of today doing flats for like 30 pages. Not even kidding on that.
Last thing for the night, some WIP Asis chapter cover art. Still aways to go, and flattened a layer I wasn’t suppose to..
